ICT2008, Lyon – Think-Trust Networking Session The impact of Trust, Security, Dependability, Privacy and Identity – Societal and ICT perspectives

Come and join us – Day 3 – Thursday, 27-NOV-2008; 09:00, Room: Saint Clair 4

See http://ec.europa.eu/information_society/events/ict/2008/networking/programme3/index_en.htm

(Revised Reference: N.100)

The main purpose of the session is to bring together participants who are involved in or concerned with, or even just plain interested in, security, privacy, trust, and dependability aspects of the Information Society. The session will provide a focus and opportunity for potential future collaborators to meet and to discuss relevant research and technological development activities, together with the needs and possibilities for future work, projects, and accompanying measures. It will be an open and contributory session whose goal is to address not only technical challenges and issues, but also consumer perspectives – the needs of the individual, of society, of organisations, of administrations, etc., and the contribution of related non-technology disciplines. Further goals are:

  • to raise awareness of the problems and challenges for an Information Society that can be trusted by its citizens, and that will underpin much of our lives – both inside and outside the workplace;
  • to contribute to current analysis of what is needed to arrive at the Trusted Information Society – what further R&D, and what policies are necessary to make it work.

The session consists of two parts with time allocated for audience participation:

  • Part 1. Security & Dependability for Future Internet: we have speakers on architectural challenges, covering Network and Services Infrastructures, Accountability and Measurements, mainly from the technical perspective, followed by a finance industry scenario.
  • Part 2. Privacy &Trust for the Information Society: we concentrate more on the user perspective while still taking into account the underlying technology; we cover Identity Management, ID Provisioning, Privacy and Security, and Trust and Security.

We look forward to your participation.

Organised by the Think-Trust Project.
